Sarah is offering her services for community engagement murals commisioned by both private and public companies. This is a great opportunity to hire someone who is trained and experienced to take the helm for your company’s project that engages the community in a way that beautifies a wall space.
Benefits:
Community outreach - getting your business involved in your local community. Community members can participate in the collaborative creation of a mural.
Exposure - bring more attention to your business through a public facing mural OR beautify your interior with a mural created by the community
Engagement - now more than ever, we need to bring people together around ideas that bring pride to their communities. Coupled with that, children have been quarantined and doing online work that is rote, sedentary, and isolated. These children need engagement outside of their homes in a way that feels meaningful, physical, and communal.
Why Sarah?
Experience
Community Member - Studies show that community engagement should start from the bottom up rather than the top down. Sarah is a long-time member of the Williamsburg neighborhood and is trained at listening to community members and translating their needs/ideas into beautiful public art pieces
Reputation - Ran The Painted Cloud for 3 years
Versatility - works with groups large and small, all ages, committed participants and transient participants
How does it work?
Because each situation is different, Sarah will work with your team to determine a) what your goals are b) what your budget/timeline is c) which component of the community you hope to engage. From their, she will draw a plan of action and break-down of costs for your review. Once approved, she will begin
Following the immediate closure of the brick-and-mortar studio in March due to COVID-19, Sarah developed the Drawings and Thoughts project. Drawings and Thoughts project provided online sessions that were open to anyone in the world and were pay-as-you-wish. Each session included a warm up, art vocabulary, drawing sessions, and Dialogue Time. The drawings were submitted to The Painted Cloud and compiled into an online journal video. Additionally, Sarah provided at-home resources for families.
Simultaneously, Sarah and her husband, Julian Bozeman, created DreamersWelcome.TV, a crowd-sourced online television channel for artists to share work with an all-ages audience. The channel offered live-streamed and prerecorded RELAXING and/or CALMING and/or PLEASANT content from visual artists, performers, video artists, dancers, comedians, animators, clowns, musicians, authors, poets, sculptors, culinary artists, puppeteers, and every dreamer in between. Over 70 artists submitted work in video form to be shown on DreamersWelcome.TV.
Benefits for participating businesses:
Connection - By participating in the series, businesses connect more deeply with their community.
Engagement - The murals on the facade send a message that you care about young people and are committed to your community.
